GT5? CITROËN? Something Isn't Right

If you are a car fan, then you have probably played the game Gran Turismo on Playstation. If you haven't, I would advise you to go get a Playstation and play all four series of the game as Polyphony Digital Inc, the creator of Gran Turismo has announced that they will be releasing the 5th series of the multi-million selling game very soon.

If you have played the game and you are a fan, then you will know that the cars normally featured in the game would be exotic supercars where only the rich and famous would be able to afford it. We play it as we can't afford the real thing, or don't have the heart to crash the real thing. You would probably find a few Lamborghinis, a variety of Porsches, Rally spec cars, a few V8, V10 or even a V12 supercar and maybe a CITROËN.

Yups, you read that right. A Citroën. The 5th series of the game will be featuring a Citroën. But wait, this isn't any ordinary shopping-trolley-granny-driven type of . This is a stunning concept by Citroën and it is currently on the stand at the Paris Motor Show. It is called the GTbyCITROËN.

It is almost 5 metres long, packs the latest high-tech racing equipment, 21 inch diamond effect aluminium wheels, gullwing doors, oversized rear end with mobile spoilers, gaping air intake and has a flat underside.

Kazanori Yamauchi, President of Polyphony Digital Inc and creator of Gran Turismo, commented, “GTbyCITROËN shows how the worlds of virtual and real-life motoring can join together to create a truly innovative partnership. To see the GTbyCITROËN take shape in our game studios and then for real has been a truly unique experience - as our work normally stays in the digital world.”

How good the car handles or performs will have to wait until the game is released. But for it to be included in a GT game, I can assure you it will be spectacular. And while we GT fans wait for it to be released, all we can do for now is feast our eyes on the pictures below and drool.
